RADIO BEMBA

^{I’m in the vibrant and seductive heart of Latin America’s most politically infamous nation. It’s December in Centro Habana. The streets are lively, flurrying with the sounds of flirtatious laughter, sensual dancing and domino fichas sliding across table tops. Men clad in electric blue overalls; women unthreatened by the air-kisses charging from every direction. While I witness the palpable sense of community and the effects of technological isolation, I see that Cubans are a resourceful and ingenious people. Not only do they fashion new parts from old materials, but they do so with great finesse. It’s the vibrant and diverse personalities, freedom from cyberspace and dramatically painted art nouveau architecture that lead me here. Radio Bemba celebrates these colours and cultures that make Cuba so unique and important to the history of America Latina.}
